Media Release:

ANZ Championship moves to TEN and ONE HD

Trans-tasman netball rivalry will be viewed in millions of Australian homes via free-to-air television from 2009, with Network Ten and the Trans

Tasman Netball League (TTNL) entering a four-year partnership to broadcast the ANZ Championship.

In a move which complements its guaranteed coverage of all Australian Netball Diamonds Test matches, all ANZ Championship matches will be broadcast via a combination of TEN's primary channel and its new High Definition digital channel, ONE HD.

TTNL Chairman, Noeleen Dix believes the move is an exciting development which will increase the profile of competition.

"We are delighted that we have reached an agreement with Network Ten as the Australian broadcaster for the 2009 ANZ Championship," Dix said.

"Network Ten as a free-to-air broadcaster provides a great opportunity to further promote the league and attract new audiences."

Network Ten's General Manager - Sport, David White, added: "TEN is delighted to add the ANZ Championship to our growing Netball franchise.  The match of the week will air every Sunday afternoon on TEN and, for the first time, all matches will be broadcast in High Definition on ONE HD.   The ANZ Championship will be one of the channel's flagship offerings and will include prime-time coverage every Monday night."

ANZ Championship coverage on TEN and ONE HD, headed by former Australian captain Liz Ellis and Network Ten personality Luke Darcy, begins on April 4, 2009.
